How to Fix An Online HP Printer? 

  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor application to fix offline HP printers. 

  1. Open the application called HPPSdr.exe by clicking it from the download location and allowing it to run. You may need to be in administrator mode to do this

  2. If you are prompted, choose Yes to trust the file source because it comes directly from the HP tech support team

  3. Click Start and choose your printer

  4. If your printer is not listed, restart your printer, then click Retry in the Print and Scan Doctor application

  5. The application will identify potential connection issues. Follow the prompts and click Yes if asked to turn on printer updates

  6. Continue through the prompts and click Yes if asked to make this printer the default printer

To connect to your printer via a wireless network, take the following actions:

  1. After shutting off your printer, wait ten seconds, then unplug the power cord to restart it.

  2. Next, shut off your computer.

  3. Restart the printer by connecting the printer's power wire to it.

  4. Your wireless router's power cord should be disconnected.

  5. Ten seconds must pass before reconnecting it.

  6. Your internet might not turn back on for a while.

  7. When that happens, start your computer.

  8. Connect your printer to your network by using either the HP Smart software or the HP wireless setup wizard.

  9. To check for any potential connectivity difficulties, print a wireless report.

  10. Locate this report in your printer's network settings or wireless menu.
