  • Set the default printer

You might need to manually choose your preferred default printer. To fix offline HP printers with Windows 10, make sure that you have downloaded and installed every update for the Windows 10 operating system before you start.

  • Confirm printer port

Checking if your printer utilizes a WSD port is the next step to fix offline HP printers.

  1. Click "View devices and printers" in the Control Panel by searching Windows for it.

  2. Next, choose Printer Properties by right-clicking your printer.

  3. Check the Ports tab to determine if your printer utilizes a WSD port by clicking it.

  • Check your USB connection

The printer may still appear to be offline for a variety of reasons, depending on how it is linked to your device. Make sure the USB cord is firmly inserted if you choose to connect using one. If the problem still exists, you might want to try a new USB cord.

To connect to your printer via a wireless network, take the following actions:

  1. After shutting off your printer, wait ten seconds, then unplug the power cord to restart it.

  2. Next, shut off your computer.

  3. Restart the printer by connecting the printer's power wire to it.

  4. Your wireless router's power cord should be disconnected.

  5. Ten seconds must pass before reconnecting it.

  6. Your internet might not turn back on for a while.

  7. When that happens, start your computer.

  8. Connect your printer to your network by using either the HP Smart software or the HP wireless setup wizard.

  9. To check for any potential connectivity difficulties, print a wireless report.

  10. Locate this report in your printer's network settings or wireless menu.

If you’re still having problems, contact your router's manufacturer or the network administrator. If you still can't get your printer online after trying these procedures, see a computer expert.
